The Tailwind error color isn't working because it's not defined in the project's tailwind.config.js. Classes like bg-error or text-error won't generate any CSS unless you explicitly add an error color to the Tailwind theme. To fix this, add an error entry under theme.colors in your config (for example, alias it to red[500] or use a custom hex). If you use dynamic class names, make sure to safelist them or adjust your content/purge settings so Tailwind doesn't remove them during build.

Also, be aware that browser extensions (like Tampermonkey or ComfyUI-Easy-Use) and CSS specificity issues can prevent Tailwind classes from applying—disabling extensions and checking for CSS conflicts can help resolve these problems (example).

Yeah, could be related to error being a predefined class by tailwind.

This is resolved, it was an issue with selector priority, not Tailwind. See thread.
