File switcher is too slow in Spyder 6

It's notably better after #23965, but not enough. In below, in Spyder 5, switching would always work.

It may not seem major to those who don't use it, but it's actually a dealbreaker for me, even despite Spyder 6 now having the plot dragging stuff I've looked forward to for years...

Hey @OverLordGoldDragon, thanks for reporting. Could you post a video of how the switcher works for you in Spyder 6? That way we'll be able to better understand what's happening in your case (I also use the switcher all the time and I haven't noticed major delays).

Also, how many files do you typically have open in the editor? That will also help us to reproduce this problem.

That demo's in Spyder 6, latest. I was able to reproduce it with as few as 2 files, and no project open - again latest Spyder:

Right, since you're not using the scaling options in Preferences to make the interface look as expected, I thought you were using Spyder 5.

I think I know what's happening: we added a delay to detect when users stopped typing in the switcher and send the result to other plugins. That's set in line 480 below in the timeout argument:

Yep, solved! Seems as good as Spyder 5 even with many files.

Nop, no problem with that.

Just Projects for now, but you already disabled searching for its files with the switcher.
