Can I use this on a Mac mini with Batocera?

Batocera for some reason isn’t using my fans when it runs hot. Was hoping this would work for my setup.

You can use it, but Batocera doesn't support any of the listed installation methods. In fact, Batocera doesn't officially support any app installation outside of flatpak.

I installed mbpfan by first installing JuNest and then installing mbpfan within juNest. It's been a while, but here's what I recall doing.

To install JuNest, I just put the repo's contents in a folder named .junest in the system folder on my userdata partition. Due to this system modification, I now see an "oc" after the Batocera version number in my system information. I have v41, so I see 41oc. If you update to a new version of Batocera, you'll get a warning about an "unofficial system modification." I saw this warning when I upgraded from 40 to 41, but I haven't had any issues.

To install mbpfan (or whatever else), consult the JuNest README.

To run mbpfan on startup in Batocera, I put a custom.sh file in the system folder on my userdata partition. Below are the file's contents. The comments give links that help explain the code:

The use of custom.sh has been deprecated since Batocera v38, but it's still working as of v41.
