Old nodes support that I can directly drag an output to a node, and it will automatically detect the matched data type input. But VUE nodes can't do this.

Claude findings:

Vue nodes missing automatic type matching for drag-to-node connections (regression from legacy LiteGraph).

Root cause: Vue nodes only handle slot-to-slot connections via useSlotLinkInteraction.ts. Missing "drop on node background" functionality that LiteGraph's LinkConnector.connectToNode() provides.

Key technical details:

• Legacy system: src/lib/litegraph/src/canvas/LinkConnector.ts:889-931 - smart type matching with fallback logic
• Vue implementation: Only handles finishInteraction() for slot-to-slot, no node background drop handler
• PR Slot functionality for vue nodes #5628 implemented basic Vue slot functionality but explicitly listed "Drop on node" as future work

Implementation gap: Vue node pointer events (@pointerup in LGraphNode.vue) don't integrate with link drag state to detect background drops.

Solution: Extend useSlotLinkInteraction.ts and useNodeEventHandlers.ts to add handleLinkDrop() method that reuses LiteGraph's findInputByType() logic for automatic compatible slot detection.
